Radio Shiloh Adds Exciting New Component — DAYPARTS!

GE

Station owner Bill Schmalfeldt programs Radio Shiloh from his bedroom while the doggie the station is named after keeps a sharp eye out for intruders.

Until now, Radio Shiloh has been pretty much a hodgepodge of this and that as I decided what I wanted to do with the station.  Then, I remembered I used to MANAGE radio stations. ACTUAL radio stations. And how do you PROGRAM a radio station?  Especially one that prides itself on the eclectic mix of music that Radio Shiloh boasts?

DAYPARTS!

So, here’s the lineup.

OVERNIGHT ECLECTICA — Midnight to 6am (All times Eastern): A little of this, a little of that from Classical Music to the old standards of the 20’s and 30’s to the “Just Plain Weird.” Nothing too heavy or raucous.  Remember, some people are trying to sleep!

LOVE’S OLD SWEET SONG — 6-8 am:  Mellow Melody Mood to start your day. Music for that morning cuddle before you get up to do whatever it is you do.

THE RUMPUS ROOM — 8am-Noon: Like a jolt from a double espresso followed by an energy drink, uptempo classic rock, comedy, and fun stuff to slap your ass awake and get it moving through your morning.

BIG, BEEFY CHUNKS OF RADIO — Noon-3pm: Hey, everyone has to stop for lunch, right? Well, belly up to the counter and let “Sturdy McBeef” dish you out bowl after bowl of big, beefy chunks of music. Yum! And low calorie? Nope!

CLASSICAL SIESTA — 3-5pm: After all those beefy chunks of radio, you may need a nap. This is the perfect time of day to listen to the greatest classical music of all time as you doze and snooze while our international staff of announcers speak to you in their native languages.

EARLY EVENING ECLECTICA — 5-9pm:  An eclectic mix of rock, classics, comedy and just plain weird music for your drive home and to help you digest that big din-din you have waiting for you when you get there.

THE COMEDY STYLINGS OF BILL SCHMALFELDT — 9pm-Midnight: What’s the sense of owning a radio station if you can’t play your own stuff? Over the months, I’ve amassed a large number of parody songs and comedy bits, most of which make fun of people who are too stupid to understand they are being made fun of, hence the enjoyment.

And there it is, the new DAILY LINEUP at RADIO SHILOH!  Like the doggie I named it after, it is what it is!

Raven, Shiloh’s older and far more sophisticated border collie sister, finds the whole enterprise silly and frivolous.
